1. What we collect

• Account data: email address and, if you provide it, your name.
• Profile data: headline, location, skills, target roles, salary expectations — all optional.
• Career content: resumes you upload or paste, job descriptions, cover letters, saved jobs, applications, interview answers, and career assessment responses.
• Usage data: which AI features you use and when, so we can enforce plan limits.

2. How we use it

Your content is used to deliver the features you request — scoring a resume against a job description, drafting a cover letter, generating interview questions and feedback, and saving your work so it's there next time. Usage counts are used only to apply your plan's monthly limits.

3. AI processing

When you run an AI feature, the relevant text (for example your resume and the job description) is sent to a third-party large language model provider to generate the result. We send only what the feature needs. We do not use your content to train our own models.

4. What we never do

• We do not sell your personal data.
• We do not share your resume or applications with recruiters or employers.
• We do not post or apply to jobs on your behalf.

5. Storage and security

Data is stored in a managed Postgres database with row-level security, so records are readable only by the account that owns them. Access is authenticated on every request. Administrative access is limited to a small number of accounts and is used only for support and abuse handling.

6. Retention and deletion

Your content is kept while your account is active. You can delete individual resumes, cover letters, applications, saved jobs, and career assessment results at any time from your dashboard. To delete your entire account and all associated data, email privacy@careerfitly.com and we will action it within 30 days.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Contact us at the address above and we'll help.

8. Cookies

We use essential storage only, to keep you signed in. We do not run third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

9. Changes

If we make a material change to this policy we'll update the date above and notify signed-in users in the app.
